First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in downtown Edwardsville, IL welcomes all to our shared ministry and mission. As followers of Jesus Christ, we strive in all we do to love God and neighbor with our hearts, minds and souls.
Rooted in faith with a love to be in relationship with other disciples, we are a church of all ages and walks of life. Friendly and an extended family would describe our fellowship.
First Christian Church is an Open & Affirming congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We affirm the life and teachings of Jesus Christ by welcoming all people of diverse race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, ability, age, and family configuration to worship and participate fully in all aspects of church life.

Worship on Sunday morning:
- WORSHIP at 9:00am is more traditional with organ, choir, hymns and liturgy.
- WORSHIP at 10:30am is more contemporary with band, praise songs, and liturgy.
- Fellowship Time at 10:00am features coffee, juice, snacks in Fellowship Hall between the worship services.
- Sunday School takes place all morning: Children (K-5) is during the 9:00am service. Youth (6-12) is during the 10:30am service. All start out in worship then go with teachers to Sunday School. For adults the Loyal U & I class meets at 10:30am in the Parlor.
We share in the Lord's Supper - communion - every Sunday. The table is open to all who profess Christ. We are a people of the table!
